Dad convicted of beating infant son to death (Chicago, Illinois)
GUSTAVO TORRES-MEDEL: Yet another testosterone-fueled young father who couldn't hack infant care while the Mom worked to support his lazy @$$. Daddy just became "enraged" after the baby "refused" to take a bottle and continued to cry. So he beat the baby to death. We need to stop using aggressive young men as babysitters. They're not cut out for the job. Guys like this need to get jobs breaking rocks instead of infant skulls.

A West Chicago man was convicted today of murder for “savagely and repeatedly" beating his 3 1/2-month-old son after the infant refused to take a bottle and continued to cry on April 27, 2009.
Gustavo Torres-Medel, 27, of the 200 block of Brown Street faces up to 100 years in prison at a July sentencing by DuPage Judge Kathryn Creswell, who convicted the defendant after a week-long bench trial.
Trial testimony stated that Torres-Medel -- watching the child, Gustavo Jr., while the infant’s mother was working at a local grocery store -- became enraged and frustrated with the child and then threw the boy into a car seat and possibly against a wall.
Assistant State’s Attorney Roman Mockaitis said the child was bruised from head to toe, and suffered seven broken ribs and blunt force trauma head injuries. “There can be no innocent explanation,” he said.
“This was a healthy 15-week-old baby who was savagely and repeatedly beaten by his father,” said Creswell.
Creswell said she didn’t believe the defendant’s claim that the injuries occurred during resuscitation efforts by paramedics.
