LAWRENCEBURG, TENN.

Baby released from hospital

Authorities said the 4-month-old boy whose arm was broken, reportedly at the hands of his father, has been released from the hospital and is in good condition.

Lawrenceburg Police Chief Judy Moore said the baby was released from Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.

“He is with another family member at this time,” Moore said.

Phillip Blake Putnam, 22, 410 Manor Drive, Apt. A6, Lawrenceburg, has been charged with aggravated child abuse, Moore said.

Moore said the department’s Domestic Violence/Child Abuse Division investigated the case after being notified about the child’s broken arm when he was taken to Crockett General Hospital in Lawrenceburg. He was later transferred to Vanderbilt.

Putnam remains in the Lawrence County Jail on bail of $250,000.

The chief said at the time of Putnam’s arrest, officers found he had active arrest warrants on drug-related charges from Maury County. Putnam is scheduled to appear in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on Nov. 6. Aggravated child abuse is a Class B felony punishable by eight to 30 years in prison if convicted.
