Boyfriend/dad faces on trial for sexual assault against preteen girl (Norwalk, Connecticut)

The live-in boyfriend, RICARDO ROMAN, is on trial for sexually abusing his girlfriend's then preteen-aged daughter. Note: before you go into a rant about "boyfriends," please observe the following: the boyfriend's DAUGHTER has also testified that Roman was an "abusive father" whose discipline was "over the top."

Just goes to prove my theory. Sh-- is sh--. If you're scummy enough to abuse your girlfriend's child, you're probably scummy enough to abuse your own. Sh-- doesn't care about DNA. Sh-- is just interested in a victim who's defenseless and convenient.

Norwalk man faces sexual assault charges against girl

STAMFORD -- The sexual assault trial of a Norwalk man accused of sexually assaulting his live-in girlfriend's preteen daughter began Tuesday with the victim, now 18, testifying about sexual abuse she underwent for more than two hours.

The girl said that at age 11 and 12, there were several times she had oral sex with Ricardo Roman, 40, formerly of 3 Trinity Place. Roman is facing a maximum 50 years in prison for one count each of illegal sexual contact with a child, first-degree sexual assault against a child under 13 and first-degree sexual assault by use of threat or force. Roman, an electrician, remains free on $20,000 bond.

The victim, who is not being identified by The Advocate, told a jury of four men and two women at state Superior Court in Stamford that even though the sexual abuse occurred much earlier, she decided to come forward with allegations against Roman in 2007 after she gave birth to a boy and wanted to give him "a better life." The victim's child is not alleged to have been fathered by Roman.

Roman's 19-year-old daughter later testified he was an abusive father whose discipline was "over the top."
