Pardon denied for convicted sexual predator-dad (Montgomery, Alabama)

Poor UNNAMED DAD! He's been convicted of sexually abusing his own daughter, but he wants to be pardoned so he can reclaim his basic civil rights! The poor darling wants to travel with no restrictions, and not be labeled a sexual offender! Never mind that his daughter has yet to lose her emotional scars from his abuse. But since when did abusers ever pay any mind to THAT? Especially when you got a family of deniers and enablers backing up the abuser and shunning the victim--the typical dyfunctional family sh-- that goes down all the time. Thank God that Daddy's request for a pardon was denied. And thank you, Alabama. You done good for once.

A heart-breaking story of child abuse played out in a pardon hearing in Montgomery.

A man, convicted of sexually abusing his own daughter, asked to be pardoned to re-claim his basic civil rights.

While the incident happened almost 25 years ago, this hearing showed that some wounds never heal.

A victim, who a jury found abused at 4 years old, now turning the corner on her 29th birthday. Still bearing evident emotional scars.

Alabama Attorney General Troy King, "This doesn't look like the child of an innocent man."

But to other family members, this man is innocent; which is why they're here: asking for him to be pardoned so he can live a normal life.

A lot has happened since this case was tried more than 20 years ago, including the inception of advocacy groups whose sole purpose is to mend broken families wrecked by abuse.

Jannah Bailey, the Executive Director of Child Protect says, "Children now have Child Protect, they don't have to testify in a courtroom. They give their story once, and then they can begin to heal."

The MAN CONVICTED OF ABUSING HIS DAUGHTER HAS BEEN OUT OF PRISON FOR 13 YEARS...

The board denied the father's pardon request. This means he will continue to be identified as a sexual offender, and faced restrictions from traveling outside the state of Alabama.
