Man who fathered his own grandson pleads guilty
A southeastern Kentucky man has pleaded guilty to having a sexual relationship with his daughter, resulting in the birth of his own grandson 18 years ago.
The 79-year-old man pleaded guilty to sexual abuse Thursday in Pulaski County Circuit Court. He was originally charged with incest.
Police said the case began in 2005 when officials investigated a neglect complaint about the child, who was born in 1991. Police said DNA confirmed the man was the child's father and grandfather.
Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Jeremy Bartley told the Commonwealth Journal in Somerset that a one-year prison sentence was recommended. Sentencing is scheduled for January.
The Associated Press doesn't name alleged victims of sex crimes and isn't naming the man to protect the identity of the daughter, who is now in her 40s.
