Custodial dad charged with felony child neglect (Roanoke, Virginia)
Custodial dad HAROLD GILBERT sure cooked up a cock-and-bull story before abandoning his infant child at a Subway shop. I wonder what the REAL story is with Mom, and how this incoherent, irresponsible moron got custody of a baby (see highlighting in bold below).

Father charged with felony child neglect after leaving baby at Subway
A father is charged with felony child neglect after leaving his child with a Subway employee.
The story ended at a Kroger in north Roanoke, but it began in downtown Roanoke. Police fanned out all over the market area for a call about a possible abduction. That call was prompted by concerned passengers on a Greyhound bus and in the bus station about a man from Maine traveling with a baby.
Witnesses tell News7 the man got off of a Greyhound bus at the downtown Roanoke station, walked up Salem Avenue and into a Subway. That's where this story takes a bizarre turn.
"The story that he told was [the] mother was at [the] bus station, on drugs. [He was] afraid she'd hurt [the] baby. [He] didn't want to take her over there. [He] dropped the baby [off] and asked me to watch her for a minute," said Jessica Wilburn.
She estimates she was left with the stranger's child for about five minutes. Wilburn says the man, Harold Gilbert, then came back into the shop for the baby and asked to use the phone. Although Gilbert was somewhat panicked, Wilburn said he appeared to be well put together and coherent.
"He said he had the situation under control and that his mom was coming to pick him and his child up," said Wilburn.
Roanoke police say it wasn't the mother, but a taxi that picked Gilbert up and dropped him off at the Town Square Kroger. And that's where police found him.
Police say it turns out Gilbert does have custody of the infant, but because he left her with a Subway employee, he's now charged with felony child neglect.
