Custodial dad, girlfriend to be charged for repeatedly punching, beating 7-year-old daughter (Malacca, Malaysia)

Malaysia is obviously different from the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the like in many ways.

But in its coddling of abusive custodial fathers, it is remarkably the same. Compare and contrast this story to the one posted below this from Florida (USA).. Obviously custodial fathers, with no mothers in the picture whatsoever. No mention of the mothers. In fact, the idea that there ever were mothers in the picture is totally erased. No explanation as to what happened to them, whether they are dead, "missing," or stripped of custody through the courts. And both UNNAMED DADS.

Father, girlfriend detained over alleged child abuse

October 5, 2014

According to police, based on the old and new injuries found on the seven-year-old child, there was reason to believe the child had been repeatedly abused by the father and his girlfriend.

MALACCA, Oct 5 — The father of a seven-year-old girl and his girlfriend are expected to be charged for abusing the child and causing injuries at a house in Paya Rumput, here.

Melaka CID chief ACP Raja Shahrom Raja Abdullah said based on the old and new injuries found on the child, there was reason to believe the child had been repeatedly abused by the suspects.

Raja Shahrom said police were alerted of the abuse when Hanisah Abdullah, 55, the house owner where the couple and child stayed, lodged a police report at the Tanjung Minyak police station at 6.05pm on Tuesday (September 30).

“The woman, who is also the adopted grandmother of the abused child, claimed that the child was beaten with a rubber hose, shirt hanger and belt. The child was also punched and her head knocked against the wall,” he told reporters, here today.

He said following the incident, the father of the child, aged 36, and his girlfriend, 31, were detained to assist with investigations.

The suspect who worked as a security guard at a biscuit factory in Batu Berendam would be remanded for six days, while his girlfriend was released on police bail because she has a two-year-old child to feed.

Raja Shahrom said the abused child was receiving treatment at the Melaka Hospital.

Hanisah said when the couple first arrived at her house in July, the abused child had a fractured hand that was bandaged, apparently after falling from the stairway of their previous rented house in Masai, Johor.

“Though the girl did not do anything wrong, the father and his girlfriend usually beat her up, causing injuries all over her body,” said Hanisah. — Bernama
