Dad charged with murder in death of 5-month-old daughter (Norfolk, Virginia)

Dad is identified as ANDREW GIVENS. No mention of a mother in the home or the circumstances. So not clear if Dad was stay-at-home, single, in a custody/visitation situation, or what.

Norfolk father charged in 5-month-old daughter’s death

Norfolk Police have charged a 23-year-old father with the murder of his 5-month old daughter.

Police say Norfolk Fire Rescue responded to a medical call on Thursday in the 1100 block of Hethersett Drive in reference to a 5-month-old victim in need of medical attention.

The baby, Gabrielle Givens, was transported to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters for treatment. She was pronounced dead on Saturday, February 15th.

After an examination by the medical examiner, it was determined that her death was a homicide.

Andrew Givens, the father of baby Gabrielle, was arrested and charged with murder. He is currently in the Norfolk Jail.

A cause of death has not been released.
