SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A father fractured his 6-month-old son's skull, sending the boy to the hospital - and landing dad in jail, Springfield Police said.
Police arrested Brian Wayne Clinton Wynn, 20, on three counts of first degree assault.
The investigation started Monday when officers responded to McKenzie Willamette Hospital to investigate suspicious injuries to the boy's skull, police said.
The boy was later flown by air ambulance to Legacy Emmanuel Hospital in Portland, where a medical exam identified older injuries to the child.
Police allege Wynn caused the injuries to the boy through abuse, Sgt. David Lewis said.
The boy’s injuries are not considered life-threatening at this time, police said.
