Guilford father arrested on child abuse charges

GUILFORD, CT (WFSB) - A father was arrested in Guilford after police said they received a report that a 3-month-old child was abused.

Daniel James Rudisill, 31, of Sayreville, NJ, was charged Friday when he turned himself into the Guilford Police Department.

The child was admitted to Yale New Haven Children's Hospital on July 25 for vomiting and a swollen head. Detectives said they responded to the emergency room as well and met with representatives from the Department of Children and Families.

Based on information gained during the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Rudisill.

Rudisill, who lived in Guilford at the time of the suspected abuse, was held on a $100,000 bond.

Police said he was arraigned in New Haven Friday morning.
