Dad punched and threatened Mum in front of 2-year-old son; told child "this is what daddies do to mammies" (Northern Ireland)

It's a wonder that any battered mums ever escape at all, because leaving these jerks doesn't help much. They still show up at your home and assault you, even when they're "prolific offenders" who should be behind bars. Notice how this freaking idiot is trying to groom a 2-year-old boy to follow his sick example.

A man alleged to have told his partner she was about to get a beating was then said to have told his two-year-old son: “This is what you will do when you get older. This is what daddies do to mammies.”

Ian Cloete (34) of Clooney Mews in Londonderry yesterday applied for bail on two charges of breaching a non-molestation order and assault said to have occurred on September 3.

The court heard that at 11am Cloete was alleged to have gone to the home of his former partner and walked in and began to make himself a cup of coffee. The woman asked him to leave and he was then said to have followed her into a toilet and threatened to punch her. He then went out to the garden and began shouting and when the woman tried to calm him down he is alleged to have punched her.

When she said she was planning to go out to town he is supposed to have replied: “You are going nowhere you are getting a beating.”

He is then alleged to have made the remarks to the child.

A police officer opposed bail and said he was a “prolific offender”.

District Judge Barney McElholm said he wanted to review the case on Thursday.
