Pothead dad charged with abandoning 3-year-old daughter in motel room; where is mom? (Wichita Falls, Texas)

Another "Whoa Nellie" moment.

What the hell was this pothead daddy doing alone with his 3-year-old daughter in a motel room? Why all the drugs left around?

Why did he leave her alone? What was he up to? Buying more drugs? For what purpose?

Why did CPS release the child to her grandmother? Is this the paternal grandmother? I hope not, because we can see how successful Daddy's upbringing was.

And WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THIS CHILD'S MOTHER? Why has she been written out of this story entirely? Is she dead? Alive? "Disappeared"? What? Is this a custodial dad?

Dad is identified as STEPHON DE-ANDRE HARDAMON.

WICHITA FALLS — Wichita Falls Police were called to the Executive Inn, 1750 Maurine St., at 11 a.m. Tuesday when a hotel employee discovered a small girl in a room alone.

Stephon De-Andre Hardamon, 20, was arrested for abandoning or endangering a child and a Wichita County warrant for possession of marijuana following the incident.

According to Brandie Young, public information officer:

A hotel employee went to check on a room because the people who rented it had not checked out. She discovered a 3-year-old girl in the room alone.

Police tried to find a parent or guardian of the child, and after about 20 minutes after their arrival, Hardamon, the child's father, arrived at the room. Police found marijuana and pills in the room that the child had access to because she was left alone there. Child Protective Services was contacted and the girl was released to her grandmother.

More charges could be pending, and Hardamon's bond for the warrant is currently set at $20,000. A bond has not yet been set for the abandoning or endangering a child charge.

The incident is still under investigation.
