The deaths of 6-year-old Noah Kosalka and his father Wojciech Kosalka, 43, in Milton on Saturday have been ruled murder-suicide, Halton Police confirmed.
“Yes, it’s a murder-suicide,” said Sgt. Dave Cross on Sunday.
The police ruled that as a result of the autopsy, he said. The cause of the two deaths will not be released, Cross told the Star.
Earlier on Sunday. Police identified Noah and Wojciech Kosalka as the two people found dead in the Milton home.
Police arrived at the residence on Clark Blvd., just east of Thompson Rd. in Milton, around 1:20 p.m. in response to a 911 call. Police cars and forensic vehicles swarmed the tree-lined street as homicide investigators worked through the afternoon.
They said there was no threat to public safety.
A family of three lived in the house, neighbours told the Star.
There was a third person in the house when officers arrived after the 911 call, but Sgt. Dave Cross would not confirm if that person was connected to the deaths.
“They were nice people,” said a former neighbour, Darryl, who declined to give his last name. “They used to have people over all the time.” He lived next door until December and said the woman works as a teacher.
Autopsies will be performed at Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday to establish their causes of death, Halton police.
