Abuser dad sentenced to prison for burning son with cigarette during child visitation (Juneau, Wisconsin)

Dad DANIEL BRYAN has been sentenced to two years in prison for deliberately burning his son with a cigarette. Note that this took place during dad's weekend visitation. And note that after he gets out of prison, he is forbidden from taking care of children--so long as they aren't HIS children. Seems his own kids are plum out of luck with no protection. After all, daddies must have their rights....

JUNEAU – A 35-year-old Waupun man, Daniel Bryan, was sentenced to two years in prison on Monday for felony child abuse after he was found guilty of burning his son with a cigarette.

According to the criminal complaint, after the boy spent a weekend with his father in July 2009, his mother noticed that “something was wrong” with the boy’s right elbow. The boy first told his mother that he got the injury from a fall out of a wagon, but later told her that his father burned him with a lit cigarette as punishment for kicking him during horseplay. The boy said Bryan blew on the end of his lit cigarette until it got “cherry red,” prior to extinguishing the cigarette on the boy’s right elbow.

Bryan was convicted of the charges in July.

In addition to the two years in prison, Bryan was placed on an extended sentence for two years after leaving prison.
