Police: Dad 'maced' 2-month-old daugther during "argument" with mother (North College Hill, Ohio)

Somehow, I suspect that if you have a can of mace out during an "argument" we're talking about more than an "argument." Can we say "assault" please? Dad GREGORY TATE has been charged with child endangering for spraying his newborn daughter with the mace during the so-called argument (assault).

NORTH COLLEGE HILL – A father is accused of spraying his newborn daughter with Mace during an argument with the baby’s mother.

Gregory Tate, 29, faces one count of child endangering.

According to court documents, Tate and the baby’s mother argued in a bedroom where the baby was sleeping early Tuesday.

The mother of the 2-month-old girl told police that Tate had sprayed the irritant in a bedroom after an argument and that Mace hit the wall by the crib, according to the police report. She told police that mist from the spray hit the baby in the left eye.

Mace, a tear gas that burns the skin, forces an automatic closing of the eyes due to intense pain. Effects can last 30 minutes to two hours.

Tate fled the West Galbraith Road residence and remained at large until police caught up with him Wednesday afternoon.

The baby is expected to recover, police said.
