Dad does drunken car chase with Police; 4-month-old daughter was in car seat (Rochester, Minnesota)

Police wanted to talk to JAMES HALVERSON after a "domestic fight" (what a stupid euphemism--I don't think they meant a spirited discussion about U.S. foreign policy. I'm pretty sure they meant an assault), but Halverson wouldn't pull over in his truck. Appears he was a little plastered, and wanted to have a little chase with the cops. One big problem: he still had his 4-month-old daughter with him. So was Daddy babysitting? Did he just take the child? Or did he have custody/visitation? I'd sure like to know.

Police: Man Drove Off Drunk With Child In Car Seat
ROCHESTER, Minn. (WCCO) ―

A Minnesota father is behind bars after Rochester Police say he took officers on a drunken chase and brought his daughter along for the ride.

Police said they wanted to talk to 27-year-old James Halverson Wednesday night about a domestic fight they think he was involved in. Olmsted County Sheriff's Deputies spotted his truck and tried to pull him over, but they said he wouldn't stop.

Investigators said Halverson eventually did pull into a relative's driveway in Rochester, where he was arrested. That's when deputies say they found his 4-month-old daughter in a car seat. She wasn't hurt.

Halverson could be charged with DWI, fleeing police and child endangerment.
