Police log: Father, son charged in robbery, 3rd man sought
Aug 21, 2009 (The York Dispatch - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A father and son from Spring Grove were accomplices in the robbery of a Rutter's Farm Market this week, police said.
Father Kevin Curry, 52, and son Cody Curry, 21, are two of three people involved in the robberies of the Rutter's Farm Store, according to a news release from Southwestern Regional Police. Police are looking for a third man allegedly involved in the robbery, David Heller, 32.
Heller and the Currys are neighbors on the 100 block of South Main Street in Spring Grove, police said. Kevin and Cody Curry live together.
Incident: Police allege that Heller entered the Rutter's Store at 420 N. Main St. in Spring Grove at about 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, threatened the clerk, demanded money and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police. Heller told the clerk he had a gun, but one was never displayed, Police Chief Gregory Bean said. Kevin and Cody Curry didn't enter the store but assisted Heller in the robbery before, during and afterward, police said. They are both charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit theft and conspiracy to receive stolen property, police said.
A warrant has been issued for Heller's arrest, police said. He is charged with robbery, theft and receiving stolen property.
Bean said investigators used surveillance video from the Rutter's store to identify the alleged robbers. Heller is about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 165 pounds, has brown hair, hazel eyes, and tattoos on his left neck and left arm, police said. The neck tattoo is visible when he has a shirt on. Anyone with information on Heller's whereabouts should call 911 or the York County Department of Emergency Services at 840-2971, police said. -- Reach Carl Lindquist at 505-5432 or clindquist@yorkdispatch.com.
