Dad indicted on murder charges in death of 6-week-old daughter (Newport, Rhode Island)

Same old crap. Dad RACHIN McCOY was home alone with the baby and couldn't handle it, so he killed her. She was only 6 weeks old. Why do we assume that all sperm donors are cut out for infant care, much less being being fathers of children of any age?

NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) — A Newport man charged with killing his infant daughter has been indicted on a murder charge.

The Rhode Island Attorney General's office says Rachin McCoy is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Newport County Superior Court following his indictment on Friday.

Prosecutors say the 21-year-old McCoy beat his 6-week-old daughter Naomi when he was home alone with the baby in late January. Police said the infant was brought to the hospital with injuries to her head, torso, arms, and legs and died a few days later.

McCoy claimed the baby fell off the couch.

McCoy has been held without bail since then.
