MADISON, N.C. -- A Rockingham County father and his son were charged after deputies went to their property and said they discovered a liquor still, marijuana seeds, moonshine and a smoking pipe.
Deputies said they were conducting an investigation at the home on Planters Road after receiving a tip that marijuana plants were being grown on the property.
When they arrived, the found a still in plain view on the back porch of the house, Sheriff's Department spokesman Dean Venable said.
David Michael Kennedy was charged with possession of equipment intended for use in the manufacturing of non-tax-paid alcohol and possession of non-tax-paid alcoholic beverage.
His son, David Ezekiel Kennedy, 20, was charged with manufacturing marijuana.
