A man was arrested last night in connection with the death of his 7-week-old son.

On June 29, Stafford deputies responded to 6 Beech Drive after a 911 call reporting an infant was having trouble breathing and CPR was in progress. The child was taken to Stafford Hospital, then airlifted to Fairfax, police said.

A doctor's examination at Fairfax hospital indicated the baby was suffering injuries consistent with shaken baby syndrome. The child died several days later in the hospital, police said.

A search warrant was executed at the residence while the baby was being treated, police said.

Jason Wade Andre, 31, is charged with 2nd degree murder, aggrivated malicious wounding and child neglect. He is also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, intent to manufacture marijuana and possession of marijuana. He is being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail with no bond.
