Caretaking dad charged with breaking infant son's bones (Salt Laike City, Utah)

The baby of UNNAMED DAD is another victim of the so-called "he-cession" (or maybe dad just didn't want to find a job--who knows). Since Dad was obviously not employed, he was enlisted to do childcare while mom went to work. Obviously, Dad wasn't up to the task. He was easily "frustrated" and apparently didn't have the sense to know that you don't pick up a baby by an arm or a leg--or maybe Dad just didn't care. Result: baby has 5 broken ribs and 2 fractures in each femur. Call me an old-fashioned gal who thinks babies should be with their moms at home whenever possible, call me a boot-stomping feminazi--I don't care. I just don't think a lot of dads are equipped to do full-time infant care.

A Salt Lake City man is accused of abusing his infant son, breaking multiple bones.

In charges filed Tuesday, police wrote that the 4-month-old was found July 12 to have five broken ribs and two fractures in each femur.

The child's mother said the child's father stays with him at their home, near 700 North and 900 West, while she works, and she has been worried about the child, police wrote. The father reportedly was rough with the infant, and "will hold [the child's] arms behind his back" when frustrated, police wrote.

The father admitted that he picks the child up by one arm and one leg when lifting him out of the crib, police wrote.

The man, 30, was charged with two second-degree felony counts of child abuse.
