Babysitting boyfriend/dad charged with beating the face of 2-year-old, breaking his leg (Chicago Ridge, Illinois)

Note that Deborah O'Malley makes a big deal about this abuser being a boyfriend, as if that explains the whole thing in a nutshell. But MICHAEL HEALY is also the father of another child in the household (a four-month-old infant). This idiot Healy has been charged with beating up a 2-year-old because he was crying for gawd's sake, beating the little boy's face and throwing him into a wall and breaking his leg. Do you think he's any different as a "dad"? It's the same guy! The same "anger management issues"! The same criminal tendencies! This guy needs to be kept away from the 2-year-old AND the baby. Pronto. And Mom needs to find another babysitter. Preferably a nice grandmotherly type.

Chicago Ridge man charged with breaking toddler's leg

There's yet another case of a woman's boyfriend seriously injuring a small child.

Chicago Ridge Police say Michael Healy, 28, was charged this weekend with aggravated battery after breaking the leg of a two-year-old boy and beating the child's face.

Police say Healy was angry because the child wouldn't stop crying. He allegedly hit him several times in the face and head then swung the child around by his arm and flung him against a wall. The force of the impact broke the child's leg.

Healy reportedly took off after the incident but later turned himself in to Chicago Ridge Police Chief Tim Baldermann. Chief Baldermann says Healy gave a statement and was charged.

Healy is the boyfriend of the child's mother and they lived together in an apartment on the 5700 block of West 108th Street. Though not the father of the injured toddler, he is the father of a second child in the home, the woman's four-month-old son.

Chief Baldermann says the mother was not home during the incident and she is not accused of any wrongdoing.

Bond for Healy is set at $300,000.

This past weekend a South Side mother was charged with endangerment and her boyfriend was charged with murder in the abuse death of that woman's 19-month-old child.
