Dad charged in 2-year-old son's beating death (St. Louis, Missouri)

Another case with a lot of omissions. Notice that we hear mention of Daddy and "the child's uncle." And that the surviving kids are now in "protective custody."

What is missing once again? Any mention of the mother. Was there a mother in this home? Or was this a custody/visitation situation?

Dad is identified as ZACHARY BARBER.

(KMOV) – Charges have been filed against a 28-year-old man accused of beating his 2-year-old son to death at their south St. Louis home Thursday night.

Zachary Barber was charged Friday with first-degree manslaughter.

Authorities said officers were called to a home in the 7000 block of Weil around 7 p.m. after the child’s uncle said he was unconscious and having trouble breathing.

Police arrived to the scene and found Isiah Barber unresponsive. The child was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to police, Zachary Barber told officers he struck the child in the chest. He was taken into custody at the scene.

The toddler’s twin brother and a 4-year-old brother are now in protective custody.
