An Orosi man killed one daughter and critically wounded another daughter before taking his own life early Monday morning, the Tulare County Sheriff's Department said.
Anthony Alvarez, 63 appears to have died of self-inflicted gun shots, the Sheriff's Department said. He is the father of the two other people involved in the shooting, authorities said.
Jennifer Kimble, 37, died, and Valerie Alvarez, 33, was wounded and air lifted to a Fresno hospital, authorities said. She is in critical condition, the sheriff's department said.
Three children in the home were not harmed. The two boys, 13 and 11, and one girl, 8, were the grandchildren of Anthony Alvarez, authorities said.
The children were removed from the home and reunited with their father, who was at work when the shooting occurred, the sheriff's department said.
Authorities were alerted to the shooting at 4:39 a.m. when the 8-year-old girl called the sheriff's department to report gunfire in the home.
Investigation of the shootings is continuing.
