Dad faces battery, child neglect charges for injuring infant daughter (South Bend, Indiana)
So you have a "caretaking" dad who freaks out on a crying baby, and the baby suffers retinal damage and a traumatic brain injury as a result. And Daddy is supposed to be arraigned in Traffic and Misdemeanor Court? Boy, that's really putting out the message that Indiana takes child abuse very, very seriously, doesn't it?
Dad ADAM C. LOLMAUGH is charged with felony battery and child neglect. No mention of what happened to the mother. Was she working? Was this a custody/visitation situation?

SOUTH BEND -- A local father has been arrested for allegedly shaking his infant daughter violently earlier this summer when she would not stop crying, causing serious injury.
Prosecutors charged Adam C. Lolmaugh, 20, with one count of felony battery and one count of felony child neglect last week. He is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
According to court documents, Lolmaugh admitted to an investigator that he shook the girl on July 4 when she was fussy. He said he did it for one or two seconds before realizing it was wrong, according to court documents.
The girl sustained retinal hemorrhages in both eyes and subdural hematoma, a traumatic brain injury, according to a doctor who examined her at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.
Lolmaugh is scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. today in St. Joseph Traffic and Misdemeanor Court.
