Dad charged with throwing 4-year-old son across kitchen; media blames "altercation" between the two (Church Hill, Tennessee)

When I think the mainstream media can't get any more ridiculous, something like this comes out.

For years, I've been pointing out how there can be a mass murder scene, with three or four persons slaughtered, and it will STILL will be blamed on an "argument" between some dude (the killer) and his wife and girlfriend. It's a neat and simple way to deflect responsibility away from who did what to whom, and who is criminally at fault.

Now we have a 4-YEAR-CHILD who has been injured--THROWN ACROSS THE ROOM--and this reporter has the freaking GALL to blame this on an "altercation" between the father and his son. The 4-year-old was "arguing," see.

Who was the freaking adult here? Who was in charge? Were the parties in this "argument" equally matched?

This is what fathers rights has finally come to. It used to be that just murdered women were blamed for "getting themselves killed" by "getting into arguments" with their husband or boyfriend. Now even young children are blamed for "getting into arguments" and apparently getting themselves thrown as a result. Either way, the violent instigator is absolved of responsibility for the results. It was just the "situation," you see.

Thank goodness that even the local readers took note of this stupidity in the comments section.

CHURCH HILL — A Church Hill man was charged with child abuse Monday for allegedly throwing his 4-year-old son across the kitchen and into the bottom of the living room couch on Sept. 19.

Church Hill police were called to the Holston Medical Group Pediatrics office on Sept. 19 in regard to a child that had been injured during an altercation with the child’s father, Shane Edward Lawson, 26, at their home located at 110 Pridemore St., Apt. 108, Church Hill.

CHPD Detective Kevin Grigsby said Officer Dustin Dean initially met with Dr. Joseph Ley who stated the Lawson’s 4-year-old son had visible injuries to his face and neck.

“After the conclusion of the victim’s medical exam, I met with him and his mother, Heather Lawson,” Grigsby said. “I did observe a bruise to the victim’s left cheek and a scrape to his neck and throat area. I spoke to Mrs. Lawson who stated that on this date, the victim came home from preschool and began to argue with his father. Mrs. Lawson stated that this began around noon and continued until 3 p.m.”
