Dad arrested for abuse of 3-year-old daughter; girl in serious condition in ICU (Celina, Ohio)

This is almost a standard issue child abuse case. A father--in this case NATHANIEL C. MADDOX--"allegedly" inflicts serious head trauma along with other violent injuries against a young child. And the mother is once again erased from the picture. We're told that "family members" took the child to the hospital. Is Mom among those family members? Who knows.

CELINA, Ohio (WDTN) - Celina Police arrested a man in a suspected case of child abuse.

Nathaniel C. Maddox, 26, the father of the victim, was taken into custody Jan. 7, 2011.

Mercer County Children's Services contacted the police about a three-year-old female suffering from a head injury that had led to internal bleeding along with bruising and blisters on her lower body and extremities.

The child had been taken to Coldwater Community Hospital by family members after they found her to be non-responsive.

The child was transported to Dayton's Children's Hospital where she is in an ICU unit and listed in serious condition.
