Dad pleads guilty in shaken baby case, gets 8 years (Rock Hill, South Carolina)
Dad MICHAEL PATRICK CARDUFF has pleaded guilty to shaking his 4-month-old son, and will be spending 8 years in prison. The baby survived despite being removed from life support, but still has what appears to be permanent disabilities. No mention of the baby's mother at all.

The father of a Rock Hill baby who nearly died after being shaken when he was 4 months old will be behind bars for eight years.
Michael Patrick Carduff, 19, pleaded guilty Thursday morning in court in York County to inflicting great bodily injury on a child and unlawful conduct toward a child. He admitted to shaking the child last January.
Judge Michael Nettles sentenced Carduff to eight years in prison. Carduff has been incarcerated since the day after his son was brought to the hospital with serious injuries.
Carduff admitted to shaking his 4-month-old son, Owen Carduff, causing severe injuries. Doctors even recommended the child be taken off life supports and somehow he survived.
Today, Owen faces a lifetime of care, Assistant 16th Circuit Solicitor Erin Joyner said.
