SAN ANTONIO -- A man was arrested after police say he hit and dragged his 11-year-old daughter.

The 41-year-old man has been charged with injury to a child. Police said the girl spent the night at a friend's house last Friday and was supposed to call her father but forgot. She returned to his house around noon on Saturday. An arrest warrant affidavit states around 3:00 p.m., the two were sitting on a couch when the father struck the girl twice with one of his "tennis" shoes and then grabbed her by her ankles and dragged her across the living room, down the hall, and into her room. The girl said he then told her she was a bad child and shut the door. The girl told her mother about the incident when she went home on Sunday.

The girl suffered only a small rug burn on her back from being dragged.
