Dad arrested for alleged child abuse
Salinas father was arrested Monday on suspicion of child abuse after his 3-month-old child suffered severe injuries while in his care, police said.
The child was brought Saturday to Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital with a broken leg, police said, and was transferred to a children's hospital at Stanford because of severe injuries consistent with child abuse.
Officers interviewed both parents and said they gave conflicting information. After re-interviewing the father, Vincent Zamora, 29, Salinas police arrested and charged him on two counts of corporal injury to a child. He was booked into Monterey County Jail.
