Marion dad arrested after baby tests positive for cocaine
Marion Star Staff Report • November 2, 2010
MARION -- Police on Sunday arrested the father of a 7-month-old boy who tested positive for cocaine.
Police arrested Rocky E. Jordan Jr., 31, 380 Silver St., about 1 p.m. without incident, Lt. Jeff Clewell said. Jordan was being held Monday night in the Multi-County Correctional Center in lieu of a $10,000 cash/corporate bond.
He will face charges of felony child endangering and drug abuse, Clewell said.
Officers had searched for Jordan as they investigated a report the boy was hospitalized at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus.
The child was released from the hospital "and doing fine," Lt. Jon Shaffer said on Friday. Police began investigating Friday after receiving a report from Marion County Children Services that the 7-month-old was hospitalized.
Police interviewed the child's mother. No further information was immediately available.
A preliminary hearing will be at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in Marion Municipal Court.
