Child left in vehicle while father plays video poker

CUT OFF, La. (AP) - A Galliano man has been arrested on allegations of leaving his 4-year-old son unattended in his vehicle while he played video poker at a truck stop in Cut Off.

The Lafourche Parish sheriff's office says 41-year-old Troy McPhail was arrested Saturday night at the mini-casino's parking lot. Investigators told The Daily Comet that truck stop employees notified authorities about the child, who allegedly had been left unattended twice.

McPhail was jailed in lieu of $1,000 bond after being booked with leaving a child in a vehicle unattended.

It was not immediately known whether McPhail has an attorney.
