Even in the Maldives, you have the same (deliberately?) confusing headlines that you see everywhere else. This was no "man" who "allegedly" sexually abused this girl. It wasn't just a dad either. It was a custodial father, and the little girl lived with him. I'm sure there's more to this story than Mom just moving somewhere else after the divorce. Sexual predators like UNNAMED DAD very often go to considerably lengths to obtain, groom victims.

Man arrested for allegedly molesting 3-year-old daughter

MALE, November 11 (HNS) – A man was arrested in Male Tuesday evening for allegedly molesting his three-year-old daughter.

Police spokesperson Sub-inspector Ahmed Shiyam also confirmed the arrest of the 51-year-old man but did disclose details.

Haveeru understands that the man living in a Maafannu house has been sexually abusing his daughter for days. The child with divorced parents lives with her father.

“The child’s mother moved to another place after the divorce. Since then, the child has been living with her father,” a person close to the matter said.

People living in a rented apartment at the house allegedly reported the incident to the police. The investigation is underway.
