A Daly City man faces up to 142 years in prison if convicted on charges that he repeatedly molested and raped his daughter, a prosecutor said.
Alfredo Vasquez, 43, has been charged with 69 felonies, including child molestation, sodomy, unlawful sex with a minor, oral copulation and making threats, said Chief Deputy District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe. He is due in San Mateo County Superior Court today to enter a plea to the counts.
Police said the investigation started when the girl ran away from home and was afraid to go back. She told officers that her father had been molesting her since she was 11 years old. As part of their investigation, police recorded a phone conversation between the girl and her father, police said.
The girl lived with her parents and four siblings in a one-room apartment, Wagstaffe said. The alleged abuse, which happened up to four times per month, began with touching and escalated to include intercourse, he said.
Vasquez is being held in lieu of $3.6 million bail, Wagstaffe said.
