Dad arrested for murder in head trauma death of 1-month-old daughter (Whitfield County, Georgia)

Dad NATHANIEL HESTER is charged with murder in the death of his 1-month-old daughter. The girl had evidence of head trauma and other injuries.

A father is charged with murder in the death of his one month old child.

A call came into 9-1-1 around 3:30 this morning about a child not breathing at this Whitfield County home.When emergency workers arrived..they found the little girl's mother performing CPR.

The child was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

Investigators say there were obvious signs of head trauma and other injuries to the body.

The girl's father 29-year-old Nathaniel Hester was charged.

It's believed alcohol and drugs played a role in the death.

The child's mother is not expected face any charges.

She told deputies she put the baby to bed and when she woke up the baby was in another room with Hester..already injured.

Neighbors say they're shocked by the news and never witnessed any abuse to the child by her parents.

The child's body has been taken to the GBI crime lab in Atlanta for an autopsy

Investigators plan to release more information once the autopsy is complete.
