Notice that the surviving son is now in the custody of a "family friend." What happened to Mom? Was WISLER ISME a custodial dad? How? Why?

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida father has been arrested and charged with child neglect after his 8-year-old son died in a fire at their home.

Police arrested 29-year-old Wisler Isme Monday and charged him with child neglect with great bodily harm.

Isme's 8-year-old son died after a fire sparked at their Lauderhill townhouse near Northwest 59th Way and 20th Street, June 23. His 9-year-old son managed to escape the fire by jumping out of a second-story window. By the time fire rescue crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames. Police said the boys were home alone.

A Broward judge has placed the 9-year-old boy in the temporary custody of his teacher who is also a family friend.
