KALAMAZOO, Mich (April 18, 2014) – A father convicted of child abuse in the death of his 4-month-old son was physically removed from court after an outburst during today’s sentencing.
Tahj Lockett will spend between 5 and 15 years behind bars after the death of his 4-month-old son Tahj Lockett Jr. in November of 2012.
Investigators found Lockett Jr. unresponsive at his apartment home in Kalamazoo Township, who was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Lockett’s outburst happened as the child’s mother read a statement during today’s sentencing.
FOX 17 looked into Lockett’s criminal past at the time of his arrest in 2012, which included a domestic violence charge from 2011.
