Dad charged in death of 3-month-old daughter (Cincinnati, Ohio)

So let me get this straight. You hit a baby with a closed fist and kill her and it's "child endangerment"? Seems like what happened here went well beyond "endangering." The freaking moron KILLED her. Why is he not charged with murder? Typical abuser dad coddling.

Dad is identified as SHAVALE JOHNSON.

Ohio dad charged after 3-month-old baby dies

CINCINNATI (AP) — Police say a father in southwest Ohio hit his 3-month-old daughter with a closed fist before she was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/1tZ0cOQ ) reports that Asia Cathey's death is considered suspicious. The father, 24-year-old Shavale Johnson, was arrested early Tuesday and charged with child endangering. Online jail records didn't list an attorney for him.

The baby's mother called 911 about midnight, and the child was taken to the hospital from the home in the Westwood neighborhood.

Police wrote in court records that Johnson, who was due in court Tuesday morning, "did strike the child with a closed fist causing serious physical harm." Police said charges against Johnson are likely to be upgraded after an autopsy.

The baby's mother isn't expected to be charged.
