FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas - A man has been accused of abusing his infant daughter. Chris Clark, 22, has been charged with first-degree felony injury to a child.
Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies said they were called out to Memorial Hermann Hospital on Jan. 14 because a 2-month-old girl was there getting treatment for a broken arm and a fractured skull.
Investigators said Clark and the baby's mother left the baby with Clark's dad one night. Clark said that when he was changing the girl's diaper the next morning, he noticed that her arm was at a distorted angle, detectives said.
Deputies said Clark took the baby to her maternal grandfather, who then took Clark and the baby to a Sugar Land hospital. The baby was then taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where doctors determined that the baby had several other injuries, including five fractured ribs that were in various stages of recovery.
Clark was later indicted on the injury to a child charge and was arrested on July 27. He posted $25,000 bond and was released.
