Killer dad gets custody of 4-month-old daughter--with FBI help (Dearborn, Michigan)

I swear, there are some days you just can't make this sh** up. First you have the ACLU helping a dad who screws minors get custody of his kids back (see post below this one).

Then you have a dad like DAMON DANIEL. He KILLED HIS DAUGHTER'S MOTHER--presumably in "self defense" though we don't know for sure since no charges have ever been filed (i.e. Daddy got away with murder). So he naturally gets custody of the baby. Some of the mother's family members didn't like that, and managed to disappear with the baby at court. So killer daddy GETS HELP FROM THE FBI in getting the baby back.

I can't tell you how many times law enforcement--including the FBI--have refused to help mothers. Even mothers who can document histories of paternal abuse.

DEARBORN, Mich. (WXYZ) - A man who killed his fiancée in an act of self defense is speaking out about what the last two weeks have been like for both him and his infant child.

“She’s fine; getting better actually. Getting back to her normal ways and getting back to herself,” says Damon Daniel, looking back at is 4-month-old daughter, Evelyn.

She’s been through a lot in the past 2 weeks whether she knows it or not - starting with the death of her mother Ebony.

When asked about Ebony’s death, Daniel says, “I really don’t want to speak about that too much.”

With no charges being filed, there was no reason not to allow Daniel to take custody of Evelyn. That would prove to be easier said than done when Evelyn disappeared from the Lincoln Hall of Juvenile Justice while the order was being given.

Daniel says, “I can’t even explain it. It was eating me up. I can’t put it into words.”

Nearly three days would pass with no sign of little Evelyn. Neither family claimed to know her whereabouts.

Daniel says even the FBI was evolved in the search.

But then he received the call he’d been waiting for, from one of ebony Gaines’ family members.

“She’s said uh, the stuff that’s going on with you and my family is getting out of hand. It’s getting ridiculous,” he says.

That’s when Daniel says Evelyn was taken from what he can only assume was the home of one of Ebony Gaines’ family members, and rushed to be reunited with him.

Daniel says, “She hurried up, got her in the car without her car seat - she didn’t have the car seat. She pulled off and said meet me at the gas station hurry up.”

That’s where one of Daniel’s friends was waiting to bring the child back to home to her father.

He says, “The right thing happened. I got what was important.”
