Dad charged with abusing 3-month-old daughters (Charlotte, North Carolina)
Another case where I suspect that visitation played a role, though it's not spelled out. Notice the references to Dad's bedroom (not the parents' bedroom), and that Dad was left alone with these babies. At any rate, Dad TERRELL NELSON was "caretaking" when these babies were injured.
Notice that these babies are in very serious condition, and that it's not really expected the babies will survive (reference to investigation being taken over by homicide detectives). I really suspect that there are not a lot of men who are capable of taking care of three babies at once....

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Charlotte man was taken into police custody and charged with two counts of child abuse after two of his three children were found to have serious injuries consistent with abuse.
Terrell Nelson, 31, was questioned by police after the girls' mother said one of her three-month-old daughters was unresponsive on Sept. 16. She later learned another of her daughters had similar injuries, the report stated.
The mother told detectives the girls were lethargic and vomiting, "and her eyes were fixed in one position," the report stated.
According to the report, the two girls are part of a set of triplets. The third child, a boy, was not injured, the report stated.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report calls the girls' injuries "non-accidental" "felonious assault," and catalogs head trauma, signs of choking, facial bruising, damage to their eyes and a brain hemorrhage.
When police saw the injuries, they called in Child Protective Services to investigate the cause of the injuries.
During an interview, Nelson did not explain how his daughters received the injuries, but said the two girls were sleeping in his bedroom until their grandmother arrived, according to the report. The children were left with Nelson after the grandmother left, the report stated.
The grandmother told detectives she saw Nelson place tape on the pacifiers of the infants several times, according to the report.
While Nelson told police he had been left alone with the children, police have not confirmed he is the person who caused the girls' injuries. Police did say the girls' injuries are so serious, homicide detectives may take over the case.
Nelson's bond has been set at $70,000 for the two abuse charges.
He is currently listed as being housed in the Mecklenburg County Jail.
