Dad sentenced to prison after manslaughter conviction in death of 2-month-old son (Mesa, Arizona)

Dad GREGORY MCMILLAN has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of his 2-month-old son. He has admitted he "lost his temper" and basically beat this child to death. The baby's autopsy showed a fractured skull, broken ribs, and an injured liver.

Father gets 8.5 years for killing infant son

PHOENIX — A Mesa man has been sentenced to 8.5 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter for the 2007 death of his infant son.

Maricopa County Superior Court Sally Duncan sentenced Gregory McMillan, 24, on Friday.

Superior Court paperwork shows 2-month-old Gregory Friederich died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix on Aug. 24, 2007.

Mesa police said doctors suspected child abuse after examining the baby and finding a fractured skull, broken ribs and injured liver.

Detectives questioned McMillan. They said McMillan admitted losing his temper and hurting the baby.
