Dad charged with murder in death of 6-month-old (Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan)

Dad CHARLES COOK II has been charged with murder in the head trauma death of his 6-month-old baby. Notice that the mother was in Colorado at the time of the murder. Was Mom travelling? Did she have her residence there? Did Dad have custody, visitation? None of that is clarified here.

Baby death investigation in Sault Ste. Marie

SAULT STE. MARIE -- More details are being released on the death of a 6-month-old baby, while the baby's father is charged with Murder.

Emergency crews were called to the home on the 1100 block of East 8th Ave, in Sault Ste. Marie early Thursday morning for a baby not breathing. The baby was later pronounced dead.

Charles Cook II, 27, is charged with Open Murder. Cook is still in jail and awaiting a preliminary exam on November 8.

The Chippewa County Prosecutor says preliminary autopsy results show the baby died of trauma to the head. The investigation continues while awaiting the final autopsy report.

The child's mother was in Colorado at the time of the death.
