Child abducted by dad found safe; dad had threatened to harm him (Mohave Valley, Arizona)

Dad MICHAEL TRAVIS was in a custody dispute with his 6-year-old son's mother. So naturally, out of pure fatherly love and devotion, he kidnaps the boy then contacts the police and threatens to harm the child. Another grim reminder: just because somebody wants custody doesn't mean they have the most altruistic of motives in mind. Some of these dads/kidnappers are just abusive control freaks.

UPDATE: Child Abducted in Flagstaff Found in Mohave County

UPDATE: Brady Travis has reportedly been found unharmed. Michael Travis, the suspected kidnapper has been apprehended by authorities. The two were found in a home in Mohave Valley, AZ and after a short negotiation the boy was released to Mohave County Sheriff’s officers. Michael Travis is being held by Mohave County authorities pending criminal charges.

An Amber Alert has been issued out of Flagstaff for one victim that was abducted today in an apparent custody dispute. The victim is Brady Travis (Caucasian male, 6yr old with blond hair, blue eyes, height 3ft). The suspected kidnapper is Michael Travis (Caucasian male, Age 49, Height 5′ 8″, 175lbs Weight, with brown hair and hazel eyes. The kidnapping suspect has a mole or scar about his left eye and he is possibly armed.

The suspect contacted Police and said he will harm child.

Police are currently searching for a Purple 1996 Plymouth mini van with AZ License Plate: “GOTWIND”. The Suspect could also be driving a 1996 Silver Nissan Pickup, AZ License 595 EVP. It is uncertain which vehicle he is traveling in.
