FESTUS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The father of a 3-month-old has been arrested on suspicion of child abuse which resulted in the death of his son.

Festus Police say a 3-month-old boy was found not breathing in the Oak Knoll apartments on January 6 at 2:15 a.m. The boy was taken via ambulance to a children’s hospital for treatment.

Four days after the boy was found, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Doctors told detectives the boy suffered a severe brain injury caused by trauma.

The boy’s father, Cody N. Bunch, 21, is charged with one count of abuse of a child-resulting in death and is being held on a $500,000 cash only bond.
