Once again, we have a news story that totally erases the mother. Why were the grandparents called instead of Mom? Did drunk dad ZACKARY WARNER have custody? Was Mom deceased? What?

OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City Police have arrested a 35-year-old father accused of driving drunk and crashing his car, all while his two children were riding with him.
On June 30, police responded to the scene of a one-car crash at N.W. 150th and May Avenue. An officer found Zackary Warner sitting in the back seat of the vehicle with two children. The officer said Warner tried several times to open the car door.
When Warner finally succeeded, the officer noticed Warner was wearing swim trunks, but no shirt or shoes. The officer said he also smelled like an alcoholic beverage, and had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.
Warner claimed someone else had been driving the car, but that person ran away. The little girl in the car, however, told the officer that she, her father and her sister were the only people who were ever in the car.
Police called the children's grandparents to the scene, and they took custody of the girls. Warner was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County jail for child endangerment, driving under the influence, and driving under suspension.
