WHITE SETTLEMENT - A White Settlement father convicted on four counts of aggravated assault against his 3-month-old daughter was sentenced to life in prison without parole Wednesday evening.
The jury took 45 minutes to sentence Christopher Miller 40, to the maximum punishment for the "deviant sex acts," read a statement released Thursday by the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney.
Prosecutors said Miller was addicted to pornography and was working with his church "to try and control his impulses." Despite his counseling, authorities said Miller assaulted his infant daughter while watching an adult movie. Authorities said he continued to assault the infant in separate incidents after the initial crime.
The statement further revealed that Miller eventually confessed to his wife, which led them to come to a safety agreement to curb Miller's impulses. Four weeks later, Miller also disclosed his actions to his church, which contacted Child Protective Services, and made a video-taped confession with police.
During his trial, Miller was also accused of similar acts during the time his elder son was an infant. A 24-year-old woman also testified that Miller fondled her when she was eight while attending a church camp in Pennsylvania, the statement read.
