Custodial dad charged with assault for hitting 9-year-old daughter with belt (Portland, Oregon)

This article is as interesting for what it doesn't say as for what it does say.

Notice below that the headline merely identifies this as a man assaulting his daughter. But read on, and you'll see that that dad CRAIG HAGUE "now worries about losing custody of his children."

So Daddy is custodial is he? Well, he certainly is no longer involved with the girl's mother, as he claims the reason he beat his 9-year-old daughter with a belt is because she (allegedly) took jewelry belonging to Daddy's girlfriend. Ah hah. So what happened to the girl's mother in all this? Merely vanished, erased without a trace.

And this is SUCH a Great Dad! We know this because the reporter quotes Daddy's drinking buddies, er, "friends," as saying so.

Which is such bullsh**. I can't believe reporters waste our time on what some abuser daddy's "friends" think. If you were listening to just the "friends" of mass murdering convicted criminals, there are no mean dudes in this world. Everybody on the planet is a "nice guy" doncha know.

Let's look at Daddy's track record, shall we? Seems this "great dad" has a criminal history, including an assault conviction. I suspect this involved either this child or another child, since Daddy was order to take (useless) parenting and anger management classes after that.

So where's Mom again? Do we know for a fact that she is alive? Why does this habitually violent father have custody? I'm smelling big-time abuser control freak daddy. Just sayin'.

INVISIBLE MOTHER ALERT.

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) - A Portland dad faces charges of assault and criminal mistreatment, after police say Craig Hague admitted to hitting his daughter with a belt.

Police say his daughter, 9, told her grandfather on that, on September 19th, her dad slapped her twice on the face and then took her into a bedroom where he struck her with a belt four to five times, causing bruising so painful she had trouble sitting at her desk in school, according to police.

Child abuse detectives say the girl told her grandfather that her father was mad at her for taking some jewelry to school that belonged to the father's girlfriend.

Police say Hague later admitted that he struck his daughter and caused injuries. Detectives say she was examined on Sept. 26 by medical professionals who specialize in child abuse, who noted she still had bruising.

Fox 12 looked into Craig Hague's criminal history and discovered a past conviction of assault from 2002. The conditions of his probation following the conviction stated he required parenting classes, anger management, and barred him from physical discipline of any child.

In a phone interview, Hague told FOX 12 that the incident has been devastating and he feels horrible. He said he never meant to hurt his daughter wn now worries about losing custody of his children. Friends of Hague described him as a great father.
