Dad who murdered 3-year-old girl had "custodial rights"--despite refusing to return her to her mother before (Sacramento, California)
Sadly, the murder of this little girl has EVERYTHING to do with the power of the fathers rights movement in this country. The exemption of fathers from personal responsibility for their criminal acts, the blame reflexively directed at the family courts and protective mothers--this is straight out of the playbook. The fathers rights people have been pushing the same sick ideology since the days of D.C. Sniper--if not further back than that. (Remember that the FR forums were all abuzz then blaming the actions of a SERIAL KILLER on the family courts and his ex-wife. A SERIAL KILLER was praised as the real victim--despite a body count of at least 13 dead.)

Notice that Daddy MOUNRAD "MONI" SAMAAN was not "oppressed" in the least. In fact, as usual, we find quite the opposite--this guy was CODDLED. Despite refusing to return the girl to her mother in July, he was still allowed to RETAIN HIS CUSTODIAL RIGHTS. The fact that he was facing a contempt hearing meant nothing. The courts refused to hold him to any level of parental responsibility. Daddy still had those custodial rights (and unsupervised access) when he decided to murder his own flesh and blood--just so he could spite her mother and remove her from her mother's love and care forever. Who is the real control freak here? Who was really intent on controlling access to the child? Who thought cold-blooded murder was a fair trade for preventing the other parent from ever seeing the child again? Hint: it ain't Mom.
The kid glove treatment that criminal fathers now receive in the family court system is a DIRECT result of nearly 30 years of fathers rights advocacy--make no mistake about it.

SACRAMENTO—
The mother of little Madeline Layla, who was the focus of an Amber Alert last week, is reportedly “shell-shocked” from the tragic discovery of her daughter and ex-husband dead.
An Amber Alert was issued Friday after Mourad “Moni” Samaan did not return Madeline after a visit earlier in the week. Samaan and his daughter were found dead in his SUV on an El Dorado Hills property over the weekend.
A friend of Marcia Fay’s spoke to FOX40 and says she is waiting for family to arrive to comfort her. The friend also challenged Samaan’s family’s claim about an intense custody battle between the couple.
Samaan’s brother, Nabil Samaan, told FOX40 the deaths were the result of a brutal custody battle that pushed Mourad Samaan over the edge. You can watch his interview with Chris Biele here.
However, Fay’s friend says there was no court order taking away custody, and that Samaan had custody rights at the time of the kidnapping last week. He did say that there was an issue last month which led to a court hearing.
According to Fay’s friend, Samaan was hesitant to return Madeline after a visit in July, requiring Sheriff’s Deputies to get involved to retrieve the girl. From that incident, the court issued a contempt of court order against Samaan and there was a hearing pending.
