Dad who killed 3-year-old daughter during visitation identified (Longmont, Colorado)

The killer dad has been identified as DAVID HEYDENBURG. This freak had had visitation rights for just two months, when he decided to snuff out the life of his toddler daughter....

Yet another case where a poor child might still be alive IF somebody had told a crazy daddy "no." And enforced the decision.

The father and daughter found dead in a Longmont home Sunday were identified by authorities today as 38-year-old David Heydenburg and 3-year-old Allyson Heydenburg.

David Heydenburg had custody of the child for the weekend. When the mother, who moved out in June, came to retrieve the girl at the home on Red Mountain Drive Sunday evening, no one answered the door. She called police, who discovered the two bodies inside.

Heydenburg and his daughter were both found in the home's master bedroom with a note nearby, the Longmont Times-Call reported today.

Though authorities said they were both shot, the Boulder County coroner's office has not officially released a cause of death.

Public records show Heydenburg had split time between residences in Boulder County and Rockford, Ill.;, in recent years. He is originally from Buffalo Grove, Ill., according to his Facebook page.

He had undergone a number of financial setbacks, including two bankruptcies and several liens by creditors and Boulder County.

Records also show in 2004 he was owner of a business called DMH Pizza on 28th Street near Diagonal Highway in Boulder, a location that is currently an Asian restaurant.
